Dîner en Blanc returned to Honolulu on Saturday, June 20, in a wash of white light and beautiful views. Over 1,300 revelers, from foodies to fashionistas to cultural enthusiasts, gathered at Ko Olina on Oahu for the second annual Dîner en Blanc Honolulu. Created in Paris more than 25 years ago, this global phenomenon has taken over more than 50 cities around the world, including New York, Miami, Sydney, Los Angeles, Singapore, Mexico City, Johannesburg, Montreal, Abidjan and Stockholm.
At this year’s venue, kept secret until the very last minute, participants exhibited their all-white fashion sense, showcased their taste for design, and shared a sunset picnic feast. The evening’s entertainment included Hawaii POPS with special surprise guest Genai, a DJ CW and DJ Gem tag team, and DJ Betty. Around 6 p.m., diners started setting up their all-white tables and decorations, and an hour later, they waved white cloth napkins to signify the start of dinner. World-renowned for its picturesque moments, Saturday night’s Dîner en Blanc was an evening to remember.
